“Waiting in the outfield” (hip hinge) – Demonstrate and practice position.
(Coach’s notes: Feet flat and pointed straight ahead, hips back, knees over midfoot, arms straight, thumbs around kneecap. Mention how squats and jumps start in a similar position.
Have children assume the “waiting in the outfield position,” freeze for 30 seconds, then run and jump around for 30 seconds.

3 “waiting in the outfield” hip hinges over a low bench, box, or ball
Dodgeball w/2 burpees and a 30-second hollow hold progression if hit (Progression 1 on back with whole spine pressed to the floor, both knees bent at right angle with arms straight and parallel to the ground hands at sides; Progression 2 or 3 arms in the same position as above but with one or two legs straightened and feet about the 6”-12” above the ground)
