A Brand X Method™ Preschool Workout
FOCUS:
Burpees – demonstrate 4-count burpee (hit the ground, push-up, stand up, jump and clap)
WARM-UP:
Chalk line – Have all kids help draw a meandering 25-meter chalk line. Then have each child high-knee skip from one end of this line to the other.
CONDITIONING:
2:00 – 10-meter side shuffle => 1 burpee
Rest 30 seconds
2:00 – 10-meter bear crawl => 1 floppie
GAME:
Zigzag Ball Drill – Place 5-6 cones in a zigzag pattern about 8’ apart. Show players how to run the pattern staying on the outside to turn at each cone. Let them practice this one time through. Using Gator Skin dodgeballs, throw toward the players as they run the pattern. Kids should catch and return the ball while still running the pattern correctly. To increase difficulty, multiple colored balls may be used. An additional level of difficulty is added when kids are told to return the color thrown to the person who threw that color; multiple trainers are needed for this variation. The drill can also be done in a race format with multiple zigzag lines.
