A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout
WARM-UP:
Switch w/animal walks, include polar bear crawls and reindeer hops – Divide players into two groups and line kids up on opposite sides of a large play area. Create coned section as home base for each side. Kids will race to other side using the exercise called out by the trainer. Common exercises for this game include high-knee skipping, carioca, broad jumps, walking lunges, bear crawls, backpedaling and bunny hops. Possibilities are limited only by your imagination. First team to get all players into its home base gets a point. Play can continue until a certain number of points are attained or for a given time.
FOCUS:
1x-2x
Teach the trainer to squat. Create a coaching circle with a trainer in the middle who holds a squat for 1:00. Ask kids to give one cue each. Repeat with walking lunges
GET READY:
4:00 – runner’s stretches, all directions
CONDITIONING:
2 rounds
1:00 – sprints
1:00 – jumping jacks
1:00 – blocked squats
1:00 – shaking jingle bells as loud as possible
GAME:
Snowball Dodgeball
