Prepare

Review hand and head position in triangle rather than straight line then,

2-3x

Practice frogstands 1 m

Bear crawl 10 m

High knee skip 10m

Get Ready

Arm Circles forward and back, both sides 1 minute

Arm swings, suppinated in front, pronated in back 1 m

Practice

Movement Practice

Review, demo and discuss Movement Skill™ Strong Tree. Have class repeat 5 slow unloaded presses overhead while watching for and cueing Muscles On, tummy tight and ribs down. Be more concerned with good bracing strategy and Strong Tree position then actual OH position. In other words we would rather see a break in OH position than one in the spine. Add load for work-play only for those students who can maintain positional consistency.

Stage 4-6 boxes hurdles or bumper plate stacks of varying heights for OH carry walk

8-10 minutes

Run 25m up and back

Farmers Carry 1-5#db 25m up and back

OH Abmat carry OVER obstacles

Game

Play “Box O’ Rocks

Using 3 wrapped or taped different size cardboard boxes- with 3, 5 and 8 pounds of rocks, Games may be created around lifting boxes, carrying boxes, racing with boxes, racing around obstacles to get to boxes, hiding boxes, jumping over boxes, putting boxes on sleds or prowlers, etc.
