Stinky Feet Races – With shoes off, kids line up shoulder to shoulder at start line, take off one sock, and grasp it with the bottom of the sockless foot. On go, they see who can hop the farthest holding their sock.
Frogstand – Demonstrate and remind kids to keep elbows close to the body so knees can reach elbows. Demonstrate equilateral triangle position with hands at base and head at the top.
5 x 5-point dot drill
1:00 downward dog each side
1:00 super-slow squats
1:00 plyo-box prowler pushes (use bubble wrap for grip on splintery wood as needed)
1:00 keep beach balls in the air
Musical Medicine Balls – Similar to musical chairs. Medicine balls are arranged in a circle. As the music plays, kids do an exercise or animal walks around bags. When the music stops, each child must find a ball to squat on. A ball is removed from the circle every round. If a child doesn’t get to a ball, he or she is out. Hold a “squat off” if there is a tie to the last ball. The two children do as many squats possible in 10 seconds. The kid with the most squats wins.
