A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout
WARM-UP:
Pizza Delivery – Provide each kid an AbMat or similar object to balance overhead in a waiter’s carry as if holding a pizza. On “Go,” the kids must try to knock the other kids’ pizzas out of their hands without losing their own pizzas. Last kid standing with his or her pizza wins the round.
FOCUS:
Discussion what do pogo, blocked squat, broad jump, and box jump have in common? Kid President, what does “knees out” mean?
GET READY:
1:00 – child’s pose
1:00 – bottom of the squat, muscles off
CONDITIONING:
LEGOmania (object is to build tallest LEGO structure)
10-meter broad jumps => retrieve 2 LEGOs => run back => build
GAME:
Tic Tac Toe w/small medicine balls, beanbags or sandbags – On “Go!” first kid on each team grabs an implement (marker) and sprints to the tic tac toe grid, places the marker in an open square, and sprints back to tag the next player’s hand. That player picks up a marker and repeats the process. If all markers have been placed without a winner (three in a row), then players continue to sprint to the grid and move their team’s markers until three are lined up in a row.
