A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout
WARM-UP:
Pillow Attack – Create two teams in two lines and stage three tall cones 1 meter apart per team. Each team gets a pillow. One player per team goes at a time to knock over all of the cones with the pillow and then returns to the end of the line.
FOCUS:
Burpulls – Practice the burpee-pull-up combination using different hand positions. Determine “stations” for burpulls to be used in conditioning.
GET READY:
1:00 child’s pose
1:00 wounded eagle
CONDITIONING:
2:00 hollow hold on bars
2:00 toes-to-bar on floor
2:00 broad jumps
2:00 burpulls
GAME:
Broad Jump “Frogger” – With at least two kids as “boats” traveling the “river” in 20-meter straight lines made from, eg, chalk, saucer cones, in one direction and back, a kid as the “frog” broad jumps across the river by avoiding the boats. Safe zones for the frog (lily pads) can be created by drawing in chalk or providing hula hoops or other similar low objects. Frogs and boats rotate after each crossing attempt. Walking lunges may be alternated or substituted for broad jumps.
