A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout
WARM-UP:
Circle run
Circle run w/medicine ball, 4#-6#
March with knee tap to medicine ball held in front and to the side; use opposite knee
FOCUS:
Thruster – define as squat and press; demo and discuss squat plus a press
Do slow-count thrusters
*Only have kids who squat well—knees out, neutral spine—do thrusters. Have others stay with the squat.
GET READY:
1:00 each side – couch stretch against the wall
1:00 each side – standing quad stretch
* Cue organized hip; don’t allow over extension to nullify the stretch
CONDITIONING:
Medicine ball races
GAME:
Hillbilly Ping Pong – Need 2 ping pong paddles and 1 ping pong ball per two kids. Use 1-4 jump boxes per pair of kids and a chalk line to divide playing “table” in half. Each serve has a 3-burpee buy-in. Each point requires 3 blocked squats from player scored against.
