A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout

WARM-UP:
Turkey Tag – Whoever is tagged must drop to the floor and hold the turkey position for a count of five

FOCUS:
Hollow hold – in a plank, practice holding a curved hollow rather than an angled (pike) position; flip to dead bug position for rest

GET READY:
1:00 each side – triangle against wall

CONDITIONING:
2-3 rounds
2:00 – alternate 3 jumping jacks and 3 burpees
2:00 – single-leg hopping, grabbing one foot any way

GAME:
Blanket Fort – Divide class into teams of 3 or 4. Give each team an equidistant location from other teams—preferably a least 3 meters apart—and a kit to build a fort. For example, we used the following:

4 folding chairs
1 sheet
4 PVC
1 hula hoop

All team members start in the center of the play area in the plank position. On “Go,” everyone runs 100 meters then returns to construct the fort for 1:00. Trainer calls out an exercise, such as 20 jumping jacks, 10 squats, or 5 burpees, and everyone goes to the center to do the exercise then returns to fort building.
