A Brand X Method™ Kids Workout
Switch – Divide players into two groups and line kids up on opposite sides of a large play area. Create coned section as home base for each side. Kids will race to other side using the exercise called out by the trainer. Carry a small medicine ball during some of the movements. Common exercises for this game include side shuffle, high-knee skip, carioca, broad jumps, walking lunges, bear crawls, backpedaling and bunny hops. Possibilities are limited only by your imagination. First team to get all players into its home base gets a point. Play can continue until a certain number of points are attained or for a given time.
Jumping and landing – Knee out positions for initiation and landing. Practice broad jumps in single jumps on trainer count.
1:00 each side – piriformis stretch (feet apart and knees and feet together)
1:00 – box squats
1:00 – broad jumps
1:00 – plank hold
1:00 – thumb wrestling
Pizza Delivery – Provide each kid an AbMat or similar object to balance overhead in a waiter’s carry as if holding a pizza. On “Go,” the kids must try to knock the other kids’ pizzas out of their hands without losing their own pizzas. Last kid standing with his or her pizza wins the round. Kids whose pizzas are knocked down go to sidelines and do one strict pull-up or attempt.
